What Is Memory Foam?

Memory foam is a heat-sensitive, slow-recovery foam that softens where your body warms it and holds the shape for a moment after you move. That single property explains why it cradles pressure points, why it isolates motion, and why it sleeps warm. Here is how it works and who it is for.

Plant-based memory foam replaces a portion of the petroleum-derived polyol with plant-derived oils; brands market it as more breathable and lower-odor, and the plant content is partial rather than a fully natural material. The trade-offs: heat and off-gassing

Two honest downsides come with the territory, and no memory foam bed is fully free of either.

Heat retention. Because memory foam is a solid that contours around you and fills the air gaps, it insulates by nature and traps body heat against you. The cooling variants above genuinely help at the surface, but they work by absorbing heat until they run out of capacity, not by moving heat away.
